Yo everyone we are looking to mix it up a bit. The unbelievably sick surf, skate, wake, snow, music, art, culture magazine Trunk Junk Quarterly are having the launch party for their 2nd issue on the Saturday night of 2K Jam. This issue features an article on wakeskating with photos of riders that will all be at 2K..
The few people I have spoken to are keen as mustard to incorporate an attendance of this fine event into the 2K schedule, and I agree. So.. this is what we are thinking: I have worked it out so that it shouldn't affect anyone and no one can complain because there is also a backup option.
Here is the new schedule for 2K:
Friday morning - arrive at Cables Penrith and skate all day
Friday arvo - head out to Pitt Town and set up camp. Chill by the river and have pizza and a fire - chilled night.
Sat Morning - get up and ride tinny and boat all day
Sat arvo - we head back to cables, get ready for the night and then mini-bus it from Penrith to the Northern Beaches for the Trunk Junk launch party. The party goes from 7pm til midnight and after that we will jump on the mini-bus and head back to Penrith.
Sat night we then stay in the cabins at Penrith.
This then means we can get up Sunday and anyone who wants to can ride cable and anyone who wants to winch can do that too.
On the Saturday night anyone who might not want to come to the launch party can stay at cables and hang at the cabins, panthers leagues club, maccas, krispy kreme, or wherever you want.
There will be limited spaces on the mini-bus and it will be a case of first in best dressed. I will also have to split the cost of the mini-bus across everyone that is using it but it shouldn't be much and I'll put that in the return emails to people as they register and book their spot.
So... email me on paul@wakeskate.com.au and book your spot asap. Your spot won't be confirmed until you pay so even if you register first but don't pay until the day you might lose your spot on the bus. If the bus fills up some people might car pool but obviously we want to minimise the amount of drivers that have to head out there.
Can't wait - it's going to be a sick few days...

Permalink Reply by munners on May 2, 2011 at 12:38pm Here is the FINAL run-down of what's happening at 2K Jam this weekend. I apologies for the mucking around but the opportunity to head to the Trunk Junk Quarterly magazine launch threw a bit of a spanner in the works.
Friday - arrive at cable as early as 10am and ride all day. We have been given exclusive use of the left-foot forward lake and apparently also a pick-up vehicle!
Friday arvo / night - eat somewhere around Panthers, go out, come back and stay at Cables in the cabins
Early Saturday morning - head out to Pitt Town and ride tinny and boat all day
Saturday arvo - leave Pitt Town around 5pm and head back to Cables, get ready to go and then car pool to the Trunk Junk launch
Saturday night - the launch goes from 7.30pm til midnight. We then car pool back to Cables and stay in the cabins.
Sunday - we are organising a winch session but if everyone would prefer to ride Cable again they can for an extra $25 (which can be paid direct to the cable park on Sunday should we decide to ride there).
Sunday arvo - everyone head home
I have decided to cancel the camping last minute as we're not really organised for it. If we weren't going to the Trunk Junk launch I wouldn't have but I think the above is the easiest way to do it. The fact that we are staying at Cables for the 2 nights won't affect the overall cost but we have had to add money for petrol to the Trunk Junk launch, plus entry into the launch party (which is $15) and to help the drivers we are also covering their cost into the launch party.
This brings the total for everything to $180, and that won't change (if you pay cash on the day it won't cost more). We are no longer providing dinner on the Saturday night as we will be at the launch party. If there is anything above you are NOT participating in let me know and I will confirm the final cost for you.
We need a few drivers for the Saturday night to car pool everyone from Penrith to the magazine launch. Each driver will get $40 for petrol and their $15 entry fee to the launch party covered. Hit me back if you are interested.
Email paul@wakeskate.com.au for a rego form and I'll send it to you. I will have these forms on Friday too so if you don't email it don't worry. If you would prefer to pay by Direct Transfer let me know in your reply email and I'll send you the account details with how much you need to pay (if there is anything above that you are not doing), otherwise just bring cash on Friday - please note I don't think there are cash-out facilities at Cables so please try and get your cash beforehand as you won't get a wrist band to ride unless you have paid.
See you all on Friday
